I need help!
I’m having trouble with a major life-changing career decision!! Help! I’ve worked in an interior design firm for years and it’s a nice place - easy life, good money, nice co-workers. Yet, I feel something is missing and I want to achieve more! And what I really want is to set up my own business. I was so excited about this until my friends told me it’s too risky and I’ll end up wasting my time and money. What they said makes so much sense. What if I am wrong? What should I do?

Hey Mr. Confused,
I can completely relate to your situation. You seem to be afraid of making the wrong decision - don’t worry, we all are. So to help you, answer these three questions:
Ask yourself: What’s the purpose of setting up your own business?
These are the hidden reasons behind your decision to start on your own. If you know why you want to do this, then you’ll know if staying or starting is the right choice!
Ask yourself: Is your decision achievable?
If you answered anything other than a large and very loud YES, then forget the idea of starting your own business! If you don’t believe yourself before you start, DON’T start.
Ask yourself: Are the costs involved in starting your own business acceptable?
Identify what the costs are (in terms of time, money, effort, relationship), and if it’s acceptable – go for it! If it’s not, think about how you can make it acceptable.
Most importantly, TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS and TAKE ACTION! Good luck!
